Hola, It’s been a really great week in Peru. I love the people here and it has been awesome to get to know them and learn more about their culture. This week we had a devotional with our leaders, went on exchanges, went on a hike, and the work is going well. I have been hitting it hard the last few transfers learning how to work better. Since our devotional I’ve been thinking about having 2 different perspectives on how we view things. We can view things horizontally or vertically. If we think horizontally, we may aspire to have the honors of men, (D & C 121:35) thinking about ourselves or how others think of us. We may make decisions based on what others think. When we think vertically, we want to follow God’s will and what He wants for us. We acknowledge God in our lives and the honor goes to Him. The motive of my mission is to give honor to God. Hola! Last week was my last transfer. I am now in Cajamarca (and just like all of my other areas) I really like it here. If it wasn’t for school starting at the end of August, I would extend my mission. I have a great new companion named Elder Rios and he is awesome. The ward is dope with lots of cool members, and I have met a lot of really good people. The temperature is much cooler here. The stake had a cultural dance activity and we were able to invite some friends to come. It was a cool event. I have been studying in Alma 24:17 where the people were assembled together and decided to bury their weapons of war. It reminded me of President Nelson’s talk “Peacemakers Needed”. We can covenant to “bury our verbal weapons” by treating others with kindness. I don’t want to be verbally cruel to anyone and hope we can all consider being a peacemaker with all those around us.
