Thinking Vertically
It’s been a really great week in Peru. I love the people here and it has been awesome to get to know them and learn more about their culture. This week we had a devotional with our leaders, went on exchanges, went on a hike, and the work is going well. I have been hitting it hard the last few transfers learning how to work better.
Since our devotional I’ve been thinking about having 2 different perspectives on how we view things. We can view things horizontally or vertically.
If we think horizontally, we may aspire to have the honors of men, (D & C 121:35) thinking about ourselves or how others think of us. We may make decisions based on what others think. When we think vertically, we want to follow God’s will and what He wants for us. We acknowledge God in our lives and the honor goes to Him. The motive of my mission is to give honor to God. I want to work on thinking vertically and question how I am giving honor to God and care more about what He thinks.
Have a stellar week!
