Hello once again from Jordan! We’ve had another good week in Peru. We had a great day attending the baptism of some of our friends. I had a good video call with my mission president, and on Pday we had a treasure hunt and played games. My companion also gave me a present I found when I woke up. The flowers around town are blooming which adds some nice color. I have been studying the new Preach My Gospel this week. In it, it reads, The gospel of Jesus Christ is “the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16). When we share the gospel, it needs to be taught by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is divine power. We all have Christ like attributes that can be an example to those around us. I would encourage and invite you to read and find ways you can bring good changes into your life and the lives of others. Have a stellar week. Hola, I’ve had another good week in Peru. We are staying busy and have met a lot of great friends. The other two missionaries living with us moved into another apartment so it was sad to see them go but we are all good. This week I have been studying about the atonement and read these scriptures: 15 Therefore I command you to repent—repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your sufferings be sore—how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not. 16 For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent ; 17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I; 18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and wou...

Hola once again from Jordan! We have had a great week. It has been quite busy, and we have met a lot of great friends. The work moves forward. We also had exchanges and I learned how to solve a Rubik’s Cube on Pday. This week we learned about how to help others and about myths in helping others in our Emotional Resilience Class. Some of the myths are: Myth #1: I am 100% responsible for providing others the help they need. Myth #2: I should be the expert on solving others’ problems. Myth #3: There are quick fixes to life’s problems. Myth #4: I don’t know the right thing to say, so it’s better I don’t say anything. We need to be “willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; and in Mosiah 18:9, Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all time and in all things, and in all places…” We are asked to comfort, lis...

Hola, It’s been a busy week this week with transfers. I stayed in Jordan and my new companion is Elder Solano. He is a great missionary. We met many new friends, attended a baptism, split our zones, and dug a trench where there was a leaking water line. I've also started a new way of journalling, adding drawings and visuals as opposed to just writing it all out. In my studies this week, I was thinking about the question in Matthew 26: 21-22. “And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22. And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?” Elder Uchtdorf said that question can apply to all of us. When Christ said that someone would betray him, no one said, “It’s probably Phil”. It shows that His disciples were humble. They didn’t think that the message could apply to someone else. They asked, “am I the one?” . ...
