A Good Week!

Image
Hello from Cameron,   Here's a quick recap of my week: -  This week was a good one.  We are teaching several people right now.  We gave one of the investigators a Book of Mormon and when we came back to meet with him, he had highlighted a bunch of scriptures and had a lot of questions which was good. - We attended a Valentine’s Day party with the Spanish branch and played minute to win it games. - I had the best street tacos I have ever eaten!  The woman that made them served a mission in Utah.  She is thinking of starting a taco truck and both Elder Cubur and I agree that she should.  I think I ate 14 tacos.  - We had the opportunity to attend the temple this week. - I am studying in Genesis right now.  I like that Heavenly Father gives us all the right to choose and is always there to give us a chance to follow Him.  Even if we fall off the path, He will always be there for us.  - My message this week is to do whatever you need to...

This week was solid as far as success goes. We found a few new people and we got some people to Church. The branch is slowly getting more help with other members in the stake that speak Spanish. We just got a new member and the go to (St. Joseph's) to teach and help people. That will be good for finding people to help bring to Christ.   Anyway, here's some highlights from my week: - Tuesday we had a super solid lesson with one of our friends. - Wednesday we had some more outstanding Mexican food and talked with another one of our good friends and put him on date for baptism.  - Thursday we were stuck inside because of the snow.    - Friday and Saturday were cool, especially because we were able to get out of the house.  - Sunday was Church and we were busy all day. We did make some solid steak burritos though.  - Monday was great weather and we got to the park and get some fresh air and sunlight. I didn't take many pictures, sadly.  However, I did...

Pickleball In The Rain

Image
From Elder George:   It’s been another good week in Kansas City.  We have met some great friends and I am learning a lot.  We had an epic Pickleball game in the rain and went bowling for my last P day in the Independence mission.    I have been studying a lot about faith.  We can have individual faith and group faith.  When a group of people have a desire and are in one heart and one mind, that process can help individuals.  Having a personal deep faith that is combined in a collective effort can be powerful.   God knows us, wants to bless us, and wants us to be happy.   I also want to work on making powerful and meaningful connections with others.  It is up to me to have the desire and then go and act in faith.    Next Monday, on Halloween,  I leave for Peru.  All my companions and fellow missionaries, my mission leaders, and the great people here have had a big impact in my life and have been very sup...

Hello/Hola,   This week was a total Rollercoaster. The beginning of the week was super solid. We had a very powerful lesson and had Zone conference on Tuesday.  We had homemade Café Rio for lunch and had a discussion about Zion. I learned a lot about prayer and what it means to be Zion like.  Last Monday we got an email that said we could play chess and listen to classical jazz.  I’ll have to dust off my chess playing skills. Wednesday was somewhat of a turnaround.  Due to winter weather, we were homebound, and I was able to do some family history. During the 30 minutes we had I was able to find out a little bit more about my dad’s side of the family. When we try and learn about our ancestry, they become more than just names.  It can build bridges and link us together.  In a talk I read by Elder Renlund, some of the blessings we can gain by doing family history work are: increased love and appreciation for ancestors and living relatives, so we no longe...
