Albedrío

Hello/Hola,

This week was a total Rollercoaster. The beginning of the week was super solid. We had a very powerful lesson and had Zone conference on Tuesday.  We had homemade Café Rio for lunch and had a discussion about Zion. I learned a lot about prayer and what it means to be Zion like.  Last Monday we got an email that said we could play chess and listen to classical jazz.  I’ll have to dust off my chess playing skills.

Wednesday was somewhat of a turnaround.  Due to winter weather, we were homebound, and I was able to do some family history. During the 30 minutes we had I was able to find out a little bit more about my dad’s side of the family. When we try and learn about our ancestry, they become more than just names.  It can build bridges and link us together.  In a talk I read by Elder Renlund, some of the blessings we can gain by doing family history work are: increased love and appreciation for ancestors and living relatives, so we no longer feel alone; increased family blessings, no matter our current, past, or future family situation or how imperfect our family tree may be;  and increased assistance to mend troubled, broken, or anxious hearts and make the wounded whole.

Two of the people we are teaching had to cancel because of the snow, so by the end of Wednesday I was fried. Thursday got a little bit better, although we didn't find a ton of success. On Friday we were able to get out so that was good. Sunday was good because some people came and didn’t know really who we are, and we were able to talk to them.  We also had some solid food at a potluck after Church.

Have a great week!
