Harmony

Hi from Peru,   Another great week has gone by.  I went to the temple in Trujillo, watched a movie with my district about the pioneers on Pday, went on exchanges, and it’s still hot.   I was studying in Mark 3: 24-26 that reads: 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.   I really like this message and it goes along with the idea of unity I have been thinking about.  Division in our families, companionships, neighborhoods, , companies and countries can cause contention and disharmony.  Striving to be in unity and not be divided is a goal that we should all try to meet.   Have a great week! Unity

I had an epic week last week. I went on exchanges, gave a talk, did a service project, and taught my companion how to play chess when the power went out for a night.  It is brutally hot here. We had some really good visits with our friends and my friend Luis was baptized. It was a great day.   I had the opportunity to hear from Elder Becerra which was really cool.  His message was really good and very important. He taught us that when we teach someone, it isn't just saying words or just talking.  We need to observe, listen and then teach.  We need to observe and make sure that all parties are engaged.  We need to listen and discern what is needed.  We need to ask inspired questions and then teach.   Afterward, I was able to speak with Elder Becerra for a few minutes and what he said to me in that short time made a big impact on me.  I was very grateful for he and his wife taking the time to come to Trujillo.  His mess...

Greetings From Peru

Greetings from Peru,   Last week was a good week.  I went on exchanges 3 times, met with some great friends, and had district council.  My comp hooked me up with a haircut.  The only bad part was that I had digestive issues 3 of the days.  But all is good.   A couple of years ago, I went through a long period of time when I was having migraine headaches every day.  They were so bad that my mom and dad both said they wished they could take the pain from me.   I was studying in 2 Nephi 9:21 that says: “And he cometh into the world that he may save all men if they will hearken unto his voice; for behold, he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam.    And in Alma 7:11 it says:  And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be filled which saith he will take upon h...

Be Grateful

Hola, It’s been a busy week in El Porvenir.  We attended a fun Olympics activity, went on multiple exchanges, had District Council, and I gave a talk.  We have transfers on Wednesday and I will be staying here.  I have been studying about what the first step is in knowing God.  When you remember Him and learn to be grateful for what He has done for you, it will help you know Him.  I like to meditate and think about the things I’m grateful for in my heart.  Be specific.    Hope you are all well.
