Gozo
This week was a trip...a lot of things happened. There was a funeral for a member, which was a sad day. It was an interesting experience because in Peru you follow behind the person that has passed all the way to the cementerio. We also had interviews with the mission president which were legit because the things he invited us to do were exactly what I had studied earlier that day. My question was "what is Joy”?
Anyway we have some really good people we are teaching y estoy más acostumbrado a Peru. (I’m getting accustomed to Peru.) I got to try some Peruvian treats that were solid, and also got some peanut butter (which is different than in the U.S.)
I have been studying about repentance and learned that to suffer and ask for forgiveness doesn't necessarily mean repentance, which is something I, in part, preconceived. Repentance means to turn away from sin. We will suffer some consequences for our choices, but asking for forgiveness is a prerequisite. Ultimately repentance comes through our determination and desire to sin no more.
Bueno, tenemos la conferencia de zona y"noche de acción de gracias" esta semana. Estoy emocionado! Mi invitation es simplemente buscar por gozo, por que gozo es central al evangelio. (We have Zone Conference and Thanksgiving this week. I’m excited! My invitation to you is simply to search for joy because joy is central to the gospel.)
