Running, Royals, SantaCaliGon Days And BBQ
It’s been a busy couple of weeks. We volunteered at a festival called SantaCaliGon Days. It celebrates the City of Independence as the starting point of the Santa Fe, California, and Oregon Trails. I was in a booth teaching people about family history. I also performed an epic magic trick where someone chooses a number and I would guess it....with 100% accuracy. I also ran a 5K. We were able to go to a Kansas City Royal’s game where I got to see the great Elder Darton. It was legit to see a familiar face from home.
I’ve been studying a lot about empathy. One thing I want to implement in my life is seeking to understand before being understood. To have empathy for others, we need to get to know them. I want to work on asking better questions to get to know people and then learn how to be quiet and listen. I want to be more humble and patient. Make an effort this week to come up with inspired more powerful questions and then listen.
Have a great week!
