Driving The Car

Last week was great.  We had an epic pickleball match, performed some service and met with some friends.  It feels so good to be out of quarantine and get some fresh air!  One of our service projects was taking some trash out to the dump.  We got to smash stuff and that was fun.  Another service project involved helping someone that wanted us to take down two trees.  We only had some small shovels so we dug out the small one but couldn’t make a dent in the larger tree.  Maybe next time.  Elder Davis was able to finally transfer and my new companion is Elder Neal.

I learned a lot last week and listened to a really good talk.  The speaker likened four areas to driving a car.

- Spiritual is your purpose.  It is where you are going or driving the car.

- Emotional is your "energy" or the engine.

- Mental is what you learn as the actual driver of the car.

- Physical is "the doing "or the act of driving the car.

You need all four to get to your destination.  It's the doing that matters most.  Avoid negative talk and self-doubt.  Self-doubt is like coasting.  When evaluating how you are doing, focus on three positive things and one you can improve on.

Another talk you all might enjoy is by Craig Manning called "The Power of Words".

Have a great week.  Enjoy the fresh air.
