Faith, Hope, And Charity

The past couple of weeks have been busy.  We met a gentleman that asked how he could become part of the church.  We had a powerful lesson with him and he asked a lot of great questions.  He will be well taken care of by Elder Moen and his new companion as I was transferred on Thursday to Independence.

We have done a lot of service including clean up the city graveyard, helping someone move, and helping tear a ceiling down.  I almost fell off a roof one of the days.   I was chucking pieces of material down from the roof of a house. I got a nice clean large piece and went to throw it off and still had a bunch of momentum after I released it.  I hit a fence right on the edge, which prevented me from falling off the roof to my death. It was epic.

On P-day we were able to go to an art museum with our Zone.  There were some really cool paintings and it was a nice change of pace.

I have been thinking about the different attributes of Christ and what motivates us to be like Him.  What is our primary motivator and how do we like to spend our time?  Does our love for, video games, movies, or other interests take up most of our time? I was wondering why Faith, Hope and Charity are always mentioned together.  Why is charity the most of those attributes? God should be our reason.  I found this cool explanation:

"Faith, hope, and charity are familiar terms often spoken of together, and nearly always in the same order. Paul indicates that the order has significance, charity being the last and also the greatest of the three (see 1 Corinthians 13:13).  When our hearts are filled with charity, we love as Christ loved, his goals become our goals, his work becomes our work, and ultimately his glory becomes our glory, for we will become “joint-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17) of “all that my Father hath” (D&C 84:38)."

Have a great week!
