Bienvenidos a todos.    This week was a'ight.    To sum up the week:  -  We had zone conference and learned about helping to be one with the members.  - We did car inspections on Wednesday, and I finally got ahold of some quality cleaning supplies for my apartment - specifically the tub which was in rough shape.  - We had ton of member visits and I got to know a lot of cool people. - One of the members is from Perú and she made some homemade fresh stuff, fue rico. La Familia se llama Carpentiers.  Note the picture of me holding the flag from Peru (no word yet on when I'll be headed there). - Some more visits and such. - I learned some cool stuff about desires and what it means to have desire for that day.  What do you really want?  The desire to change and want to be better will help you in the moment.  I also thought about my purpose and lining up my desires with my purpose.  This is what I'm going to work on this week....

This week has been a good one.  I’m getting used to my new area.  I have done a lot of cleaning and gathered up a collection of things left behind in the apartment that other people may be able to use.  There is a place called “the cave” where missionaries can go find things they might need.  I found a fan to use in my apartment, so I didn’t need to buy one - which was dope.   I was able to teach a lesson in Spanish last week to a family in our stake.  I was happy to be able to use my Spanish since I don’t have the opportunity to do that in my new area.   Sunday, I had breakfast foods for all three meals.  Straight up.  I had a delicious quiche and potato patty for breakfast, an egg sandwich for lunch, and crepes for dinner.    I have been studying Genesis 18-23 this week.  I have been thinking about Lot’s wife who looks back after being told to leave Sodom.  Her heart was in the wrong place, and she wanted to go back....

¿Donde Estoy?

So, transfers were this week and boy was this week interesting. The other Elders had something to do, so me and Elder Cubur were chilling by ourselves for a little bit, and that Tuesday and most of Wednesday were weird. I had my final lesson with my guys -  Danny, Freddy, and Israel. That was a cool lesson. Anyway, about the transfer...          My new area is very different, and almost feels like home. The members in the new Shoal Creek ward are cool so far. I meet someone who killed a bear and stuffed it, one of the guys who discovered that medicine has a shelf life, a retired pro skater, and a famous race dog. The work here is crazy different, and the ward is actually really organized and hard working. There is even a Chick-fil-A, and a Target here. My new companions name is Elder Connell, and everyone to the Zone is new from the past area.  Lots of changes.   Hope you are all doing well.  Have a great week.   Elder (Ai...

Off I Go

This week I was informed that this will be the last week I will be here in the Far West Zone.  It has been a very good five months in Cameron and I will miss the people, my companion, and the other two missionaries that are here.  I look forward to learning what the Lord has planned for me in my next area.  Transfers are on Thursday, and I’ll find out where I’m going then.  Still no word on going to Peru.    We had three very powerful lessons this week.  Two of them were about the Plan of Salvation.  I like how simple it is.  I also like teaching about the need for a restoration, the need for a living prophet, and how the Book of Mormon enhances some of the teachings in the Bible.  We were able to witness someone “ignite their fire” again after time away.   We met the 2015 Missouri State Champion Pie Maker last week.  She invited us to come back Wednesday and she is going to make us some of her famous pie.  I’m looking for...
