Hope
I'm going to be honest; this week was a rough one. Our friends that we were working with said that they are comfortable where they are, so we are going to have to stop teaching them. We couldn't find anyone this week who would be interested in the gospel and a lot of the lessons we had scheduled feel through. It was a good experience though because I've learned that these weeks are the best ones to learn and grow. We definitely got creative with the work. We made some fliers and put them up in different stores and such around the area and plan on starting an English class.
During the week not a lot happened as far as activities. The big things that happened were: 1. we had mid-trainers; and 2. well... church. The time in-between we did way too much Facebook because we contacted all the members and Latinos in the area that we know. Like I said, we did get creative in the work though. The straight G.O.A.Ts (Greatest of All Time), the Torres, gave us an idea of putting up ads where people might go so that's what I meant by fliers.
This week has been a good experience to learn more hope and patience. I've been learning about Christ and His attributes and find it super dope that they all connect to each other. You can't have charity without some virtue, and you can't have patience without hope, and so forth. One cool discovery that gets me pumped is the idea that I am a "Nephite" helping the branch "Lamanites" gain more members. All with the purpose of making everyone "one" like in 4th Nephi "... nor any manner of -ites; but they were in one, the children of Christ, and heirs to the kingdom of God."
I had many little miracles throughout the week that are being discovered every time I re-read my Journal. Monday ( today) was a tender mercy because I got to have a few hours just to rewind. I still love the mission and continuing my journey. Elder Cubur is a great Elder and we have hope for this coming week.
I don't have many pictures but attached you'll find:
A place we saw while driving
A gingerbread house (sort of)
A holiday party
Another stellar sunset
Have a very Merry Christmas!
