Getting Things Moving

Boy did this week have some miracles.

In the beginning of the week, we had district council on Tuesday, and I learned that increasing faith takes acting first and then the increase of faith will come after. They also had a bomb taco salad with an insane brownie. The day after we did some service, helping with a move out. I learned that I need to really humble myself and that complaining takes away the Spirit.  In the past, I've complained about helping with certain service projects.  The people we helped were very kind and appreciative of our service. I know that complaining is not what the Lord would want from me.

The day after was one of the best experiences I've had so far on the mission. The first week we arrived in Cameron we met a family who spoke Spanish.  Since we were Spanish missionaries, it was a perfect opportunity to help them out.  The family's name was the Montoya's.  They have two sons and very kind parents. They gave us the best tamales I have ever had. After a little while, we went back there with a family from Mexico.  The connections that were created between these two families was more than a little miracle. The members we brought have mutual friends, and their son has read the Book of Mormon and they have seen a positive change in him.  I gave them my first Book of Mormon and was able to bear my testimony on families in Spanish.  We are going to go back later this week.

The next day was COLD. In the morning we had a very interesting zone meeting where I learned 4 things about becoming a "true" convert: 1. To live the commandments, we gain faith;  2. We must look at ourselves and our true desires to know if they align with God's; 3. Daily repentance;  and 4. We must gain a better understanding of the principles of the gospel.  One of the best parts of the day was the hot chocolate we bought from a local gas station because of how cold the weather was.

Saturday and Sunday we experienced the second big miracle for the week. We met Mitch. He has one of the strongest spirits and testimonies. He will be baptized on December 3rd or whenever his "lady friend" gets back.  Sister Camarato (also known as the single best missionary on the planet is Mitch's girlfriend.  She told Mitch that they can't get married until he is baptized and frequently tells him gospel principles. I know that when they are together, they will be OP (over-powered for any non-gamers).  We taught him twice thus far and will be teaching him Monday night.

Since this email has had no inside goods here's the scoop...I built my first mission Lego set, we tried this good BBQ place, and I acquired a mew Pokémon Oreo. I've also been learning the Mii plaza theme on the Ukulele. I have been focused on making sure I am getting better every day and have enjoyed being somewhat "self-sufficient" out here. Thus, my invitation to you this week is...How can you repent daily and work to be better every day?
